Donkey Kong Country Returns Game Review!

He's back, and he just as good as he was then. Donkey Kong Country Returns is better than the latest Star Wars game and might be even better than The New Super Mario Brothers for Wii (nah, just kidding, it's on par). But I loved every second of this game, and I will tell you, it's addictive as all hell and will make you keep playing until your little fingers break off.

 What makes this game so great is how nostalgic it feels. Putting this bad boy into my Wii sends me in a time warp back to the good old days of playing DKC on the SNES. The music, the gameplay, even some of the consummate graphics and effects were very reminiscent of the original Donkey Kong. Kranky Kong even makes an appearance, however, as many will say, he's not as cranky as he used to be. He's more like a hip hop old grandfather ape if you ask me. The levels of this game are also very beautiful. The jungles, the canyons, the snowy banks, and even the levels that put you in shadow are very appealing, adding a new layer of challenge and fun to every level. It's fun that you you can play as both Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong, but this brings me to my only mouth foamer on the game. The first player is only able to play as Donkey Kong and the second player is only able to play as Diddy Kong. You can't swat, you can change, you are only able to play as one of those two. Though it's slightly disappointing, the game is still mind blowingly awesome, so I will let it slide. What I really liked is that you can ride on classic animals from the original DKC and even play mini-games like you did in the original. It's like a chocolate layer cake with several layers of fun! How awesome is it that you can play such as classic game in such a newly, refreshed style!

Like the original you know and love, this game is as easy as it is hard. It's challenge is fairly spread, and people will not have a hard time beating this game in a couple of days, as opposed to the new Star Wars, which you could beat in a matter of hours without dying. But if you own a Wii Console and are a big fan of Donkey Kong and Nintendo, what are you doing? Go buy it! You will enjoy every minute of it.
