Justice League: The New Frontier Review

Well, I've given it a lot of thought and I have decided to review yet another DC Directs movie, this time, revolving around one of my all time favorite super heroes mash up, the Justice League. I love the Justice League, whether it would be the hit TV shows on Cartoon Network like Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, or the comic books. It is interesting to see the relationships between each hero, and to see the diversity in their abilities and powers. And who would have expected Batman to fall in love with Wonder Woman? But with that said, let's have a look at a film that I have seen a couple years back but never gotten around to review until now, Justice League: The New Frontier.
First of all, I will start off by saying that this is not my favorite Justice League film or DC film, but this film has it where it counts, and delivers a lot of that hard-core DC action. The design and animation of this film is not the best, but comes off quite well, and sometimes look like an actual comic book. Speaking of which, the film itself comes off very different than the comic book series, released in the early 2000s, but like most movies based off any kind of literature, you can expect major plot points and character development to shift a bit. But no matter how the cookie crumbles, this film still captures the essence and feel of the DC superheroes we know and love. I love that Superman has his classic Superman costume that he wore in the early days, and that we get to see all the key DC heroes like Green Lantern and Martian Man Hunter work together for the first time to triumph over evil.

Batman and Robin also make an appearance of course, but to be quite honest with you, I am not really a big fan of Jeremy Sisto as the voice of Batman. Sure, Christian Bale's voice made him sound like he had a tumor in his throat and Adam West's voice sounded too casual and leisure, but Sisko's just too plain and natural, and his voice really doesn't fit the character all that well. That's like if they gave Darth Vader the voice of a chipmunk. But either way, it's still kick ass how Batman fights off enemies and teams up with Superman, and Robin even meets Superman for the first time. The final half of the film is where the movie really gets good, as all of our favorites team up to triumph over the crippling forces of the Centre. All the world celebrates as an epic speech by John F. Kennedy is spoken, as all the DC warriors are seen fighting crime together. There's Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, the Green Lantern, the Martian Man Hunter, Hawk Man, Plastic Man, Captain Marvel, the Teen Titans, Robin, Supergirl, I could go on forever. There is even a clip of some of our favorite villains such as the Joker, Harley Quinn, Ra's al Ghul, Brainiac, Mr. Mxyzpltk, and Superman's bald headed foe, Lex Luthor. Charles Xavier would be jealous!
Overall, Justice League: The New Frontier is a good movie, sure there are some out there that milk it for all it's worth, but overall, it's a fun, entertaining film for any hard-core DC fan, and it's a lot better than Superman: Doomsday in my opinion. I hope this Green Lantern movie coming out with Ryan Reynolds is good, and if they would make a live action Teen Titans movie, that would be freakin sweet!
